Three Comic Book Artists Wanted!

CLASSIFIED AD TIME, friends. I am looking for three comic book artists…or it could be one, I suppose, a really diverse artist. I’ll probably need a letterer too. Here’s what’s for: A book I’m wrapping up, a Christian spirituality book, a kind’ve memoir-ish title with some far-out ideas. I’ve decided that I want three comic-book interludes, in three distinct styles. They’d be 4-6 pages each in length. I’m not rolling in dough or anything but I’m willing to pay (flat fee) a competitive rate. (We can negotiate whether you’d keep the originals; I’d probably want to hold onto at least a page of each, with “first buyers’ rights” on the rest.)

Okay, here are the three styles I’m looking for:

Style One: An indie comix Daniel Clowes style.

Daniel Clowes, Title: Gynecology, pg #13 (from 8 Ball #17) - click for larger image

Or Evan Dorkin:

by Evan Dorkin

Or maybe even Paul Pope:

P City Parade, by Paul Pope
…anyone who can draw interesting ordinary conversation with splashes of magic realism, in black & white.

Style Two: Manga!

I want to do something fun and flashy for this one interlude. You don’t have to be Tintin Pantoja

…and while it won’t be as in-your-face as this:

…Jesus will be making an appearance.

Style Three: Chick Tract!

This one could be the most fun, a satire/tribute to the most incendiary “Christian” comics of all time. I’ll be summing up the message of my book in a kind’ve self-deprecating, ironic way vis-a-vis the Chick style.

English - Big Daddy?

So there you have it: Three styles, short stories, we’d write ‘em “Marvel style.” If you’re interested drop me an email at zoecarnate [ampersand] gmail [dot] com and we’ll talk details–you show me your portfolio, I’ll show you my manuscript, and we’ll see if we’re a good fit for each other. Feel free to post this link around the web and help drum up interest. I’m looking to commission this work around December. It’s gonna be an awesome book.

    Hi,
I am artist from India. My paintings are primarily in watercolors, acrylic and oils, sometimes incorporating colored pencil, dry colors, pen & ink and/or collage. My works vary from unearthly, tale like to real life to a variety of universal thoughts. I have worked in abstract and I do paint from photographs .

As far as my qualifications are concerned, I am a software engineer and have worked for 3 years in software industry. Now I am into exporting my paintings and work as a freelance children book illustrator and cartoonist. My illustrations cost varies from $5-$25, depending upon the size and the required color style. Your work would be done. You can view some of my works at:

I am an experienced artist with a body of work that includes Super-hero, Sci-fi, Mystery and mature themed projects.
I have worked for and with many artist including Rich “Swash” Buckler, Douglas Wheatley, and George Freeman.
I have facility in both Pencils and Inks; preferring to do my own but will do either for a project that shows promise.
I have never missed a deadline and have never interrupted the shipping or completion time on a book.
I also am well versed in airbrush and Photoshop and can provide both covers and promotional paintings if required.
My interest is to work steadily on an on-going title but I will look at start up work and graphic novels if payment is agreeable and secure.
A range of my samples can be found on this link:

Don’t miss out on some easy to grab Web 2.0 comic creation tools (such as http://www.toondoo.com ) in case you need just a quick comic here and there (in addition to what the fine artists above will doubtlessly provide you.)

Whoa, did I actually just provide MIKE MORRELL a link???? Tell me you already knew that one, or else my universe may be crumbling ;) ROFL
